About Us

The Kenilworth Lodge meets at Victoria House Willes Road Leamington Spa every third Monday of the month between October and April inclusive.

Our installation meeting is held in October, and in December we hold a very special Christmas Meeting when the ceremony is kept to a minimum, and afterwards we retire to a meal with ladies and guests at which we traditionally have a church choir sing carols for us.  For some years we have enjoyed the services of the choir of St Mary's Moseley under the direction of the Choirmaster Mike Perrier.

Freemasons make many charitable contributions, which are made by members both nationally and locally.  Our Lodge has supported many local charities including Guide Dogs for The Blind, Myton Hamlet Hospice, Warwick A&E Appeal, St Mary's Church Moseley, Blind Sports Association, and Acorn Children's Hospice, Warwickshire Air Ambulance and on a wider front the Kosovo appeal and R.N.L.I.

Such money raising is carried out almost exclusively amongst freemasons unlike many other organisations, which tend to be more public in their fund raising. You might feel Freemasons too should be more open about this activity since it might go some way to redress accusations of being an insular 'secret society'.

Indeed we are not a secret society and we are always open to new members. There certainly are secrets within Freemasonry but these are only imparted to members by merit to mark their progress in the craft.  They consist of signs and words which are only used during our ceremonies and never outside the lodge.  This might be likened to the success of an apprentice or anyone acquiring a skill, where proof of proficiency enables advancement to a higher level of understanding.  To a Freemason this is all part of the enjoyment of belonging.
